Version 188.8.131.52 is a large update, although many changes are behind the scenes and not yet implemented. The biggest visual change is the new ribbon interface that looks similar to Trajec3D and GEM4D.
Many changes were made to the way data is managed to allow for high quality annotations and the ability to manage many geotechnical zones on a single photograph in future versions. Also, two columns were added to the grid that calculate BRQD for two different core diameters - see discussion below.
Add image colour and contrast functions "Auto correct levels", "Auto correct contrast" and "Automatically correct both the image levels and contrast".
Background improvements that will allow much enhanced annotations in future versions.
Background changes that will allow multiple geotechnical zones in a single core photo in future versions.
Add the ability to set a custom resolution after "Unwarp image" - thanks MT.
Add tooltips to all controls.

Discussion - BRQD measurements (thanks KPH & AB)
The Boliden RQD (BRQD) is a modified RQD index that works well for zones of high discontinuity frequency. Same as for RQD, only the natural discontinuity breaks are counted for core before splitting for sampling.
Normal RQD = Sum of intact core pieces longer than 10cm / Length of the core section.
BRQD10 = (Number of full 10cm pieces * 10cm) / Length of the core section.
BRQD5 = (Number of full 5cm pieces * 5cm) / Length of the core section.
(BRQD10 is use for core with diameter greater or equal to 42mm, and BRQD5 when the diameter is smaller)
For example, let say we measure the following pieces on a 50mm diameter section of core:
12 + 9 + 26 + 13 = 60 (assume no core loss)
Normal RQD = (12 + 0 + 26 + 13) / 60 = 51 / 60 = 0.85 = 0.85%.
BRQD10 = [(1 + 0 + 2 + 1) * 10] / 60 = 40 / 60 = 0.67 = 67%.
If the core diameter was 42mm or below (let say 40mm), then the calculation would have been:
BRQD5 = [(2 + 1 + 5 + 2) * 5]/60 = 50/60 = 0.83 = 83%.
When logging core, the following are thus automatically calculated:
Solids recovery, RQD, BRQD10, BRQD5 and FF.
