GEM4D Version 1.6.3.1 available for download

Updated: Dec 15, 2019

Largely bug fixes from the many changes made for Version 1.6.3.0, but a few useful additions were made as well. The expiry cycle for GEM4D is now 6 months as the software is getting mature.

New functionality

  • A 64-bit version of GEM4D is now available in addition to the normal 32-bit version. Please note that 64-bit software opens substantially slower than their equivalent 32-bit versions. The 32-bit version is thus best for normal use, and the 64-bit version to open very large files (obviously only possible on a 64-bit computer with a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows installed).

  • Quick toolbars were added for the "Measure" and "Map disc" options - see the image below. These quick toolbars work slightly differently from the normal button presses, as they do not activate the pop-up selection forms, but use the previously selected values.

  • Large parts of the code were refactored into separate libraries, mainly to use in other software packages that are planned.

Changes

  • The way DXF files are written was changed, and the saved DXF-files should now open in all mine design and modelling packages. Let me know if you experienced any issues with reading DXF-files from GEM4D into other CAD-packages.

Bug fixes

  • Some options were inactive when they should have been active - fixed.

  • When creating mapping discs manually, the trace lengths changed spontaneously -fixed.

  • A Shepard Method error occurred with come selection combinations - fixed.

  • "Marker" and "Map disc" text files duplicated column caption numbers - fixed.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
